No way to tell. Another crappy picture. My 64-D (not FS) is PL and could easily be mistaken for a proof piece from such a bad photo.

LAME photos used to sell coins seems to be the order of the day. I suppose this one isn't all that bad since it probably isn't all that expensive.

I was searching Ebay last night and I was once again shocked 893whatthe.gif at some of the poor photos used to try to sell VERY expensive coins...or coins with large premiums. I've tracked many sales on Ebay and I don't remember ONCE a relatively expensive coin selling that had a bad picture. Some of these clowns just throw their coins in the scanner without even bothering to look at the subsequent photo. Many pictures look as if they were taken from 30 miles away. How anyone expects to sale a coin that way is beyond me. 893scratchchin-thumb.gif

Looks like a proof to me.

You mean the one with artificially chromed fields and fake acid etched cameo?

Correct. That's the one you sold me as genuine "governmental issue."

sign-funnypost.gif I think I have one of those too..........in a NGC holder! 893whatthe.gif

I thought the coin looked like a proof as well but I emailed the guy this message;

Hi What you have there is a proof coin and not a business strike! Leo

The seller replied in this way.

RE: Spam Alert: Question for item #3941259612 - 1964 MS-65+ Full Step Jefferson Nickel NR

The proof nickel is listed under a different item number. There is no frosting on this coin, and I took it to (2) local shops and they both agreed it was not a proof strike. Please tell me why you think this is a proof coin. I have a proof nickel of the same year listed in item #3941570248, and side b side you can see the difference between them.

His reply seems odd!

And I don't understand this "Spam Alert" notice unless it was sent by ebay, I don't have a clue!

Now he's comparing the coin to the 1964 cam in this auction!

It's obvious he doesn't realize the nature with 1964 proofs. This seller also states that all sales are final.

I don't think I'll bother with seller and possible proof coin! But then again, I might call him on his no return policy and see how he responds.
