Hi,

It seems to me that I was able to purchase a cent, about 20 years ago, which was struck from this cancelled die. At least, that's the way I remember it. It was silver and like a piefort, pretty thick. I remember not being sure when they were struck, but the seller had a pile of them and they were cheap (10 or 20 bucks).

So if this die is still around, a lot of these copper slugs could be made.

Yes, they are interesting.....but could really turn out to be a pig-in-a-poke.....
