1921-D Mercury Dime- Rim Damage, would it grade?

4 posts in this topic

I'm not going to pretend to know one way or another, but working backwards from buying the coin from someone, I wouldn't pay the same for this coin as I would for one without the cuts that is otherwise identical. Therefore, it would make sense that this coin would either get a details grade or be silently net graded down a notch. One issue with having NGC grade this coin, however, is that one of the prongs may totally cover up the rim damage.

The damage is quite old. I think it would grade. As Mr Messy stated, I wouldn't have paid solid grade money for it as it would most likely be downgraded for it's faults.
