That doesn't make any cents at all! But I can imagine that the machine hammer was fireing away pretty fast when that penny got jammed up, is my guess.

How it made it's way out the door is not unusal with all the mint errors that show up on the market. The bags that they ship out nowadays weigh 240,000 lbs! That's a 120 ton bag .....does that sound right?

I think Leo got a logical explaination... so many make it out... but that one is just alittle wild....

prior to 2002 , pennies as well as other coins were bagged by weight and not counted letting oversized pieces enter. Starting in 2002 all coins go through counters and a coin that big would jam it. That's why errors dated 2002 and after, even common offcenter bring big prices.
