PCGS Slab geniune?

12 posts in this topic

It looks fine IMO, usually the spacing of the PCGS and grade is off, on the fake slabs that have been showing up lately. If it's fake they are getting better at it.

I would feel comfortable calling that slab a fake. Like you said, it is missing the bar code on the front. Another giveaway is the denomination. PCGS does not use the "S$1". They use "$1".

Looks good to me. PCGS has used S$1, has used a barcode on the reverse, and the font is fine too.

I agree, the slab is a good one.

While reading this I was beginning that no one over here has seen Conder101's generations thread.

I am glad mtnstyne put in the link.

He has done it on both NGC and PCGS coins

Google search on NGC Generations or PCGS generations will find the threads.

This type 8 slab was used for about four years. 1998 thru Feb 2002

Now if you find one that is missing the coin number and series number, that is a type 6 holder and very rare used only two months.

It's real, imho. Gen 6/7 from the Conder system.

Missed a couple of small details, turns out to be a type 8 holder.

More common then a type 6.
