Challenge Coins

Anybody else collect challenge coins?

Can you identify the authentic challenge coins?

Never heard of a challenge coin, but it looks like the coins I received from my company commander when I was in the military. They ae all bronze like the ones you show there.........are we talking about the same thing or is their another way to get these coins???

I'd say the top two are authentic and the bottom two are poorer detailed examples.

Same thing! Name comes from the practice of going to a bar ( military type establishment I presume) and issuing a challenge and whoever doesn't have a "challenge coin" on them buys the rounds. I have yet to meet a member of the armed services that has actually participated in this type of event.

Yes, I received some for Desert Storm and others for my performance on field maneuvers...............are these things worth anything as I would gladly trade my away for other things

I'm not that attached to them, but I did think they were interesting enough to keep all these years. I'll dig them out and send you some scans.

 

 

I think the one from the 4 star General is the neatest one.

Here are the one's I have .......two of them aren't bronze but some sort of white metal. The one on the bottom is quite a bit larger than the others.

 

 

 

 

 

It shouldn't be too difficult looking at these coins to figure out what I did in the Army
