This is my take on the coin! I like the strike and toning on this one plus it has close to 6 steps but then there's the mark on the cheek and another on the steps!Picked it up on a $9 bid.

Here another coin that Solid and I battled over a couple of weeks ago. This one is a lot more brilliant with light pastel colors than the pic suggests. There's an imperfection on the cheek that's not easily seen. And there's a thin nick in the middle there on the first 3 steps.

The last pic is of the same coin but shows the light imperfection rather boldly but it's really not that bad. The big nick is by the eye.

Those look great Leo. I especially like the '46-D. I don't know what the difference is, but many 1946-Ds come with that pinkish wild toning! (Must have been something in the metal mixture.) When the coin has good luster, it's a great look (the non-lustrous pieces look bland). But it looks like your coin has all the luster and a great look. thumbsup2.gif

I also like the '43. Wartime nickels are simply scrumptious to me. cloud9.gif They can develop the wildest toning, although I doubt I'd ever call them "Phlegmy." makepoint.gifwink.gif (I hate it when I cough on my coins! laugh.gif)
