Just a note about NGC, has anyone else ever had them lose a coin??

Make sure you insure your coins for enough. NGC lost one of my coins and paid the insurance on it. They lost it after it had been in thier posesion. They weren't sure how to pay since the coin hadn't been graded yet so they paid me the insured value. Luckily it was a fair enough price for me.

This is just a note to make sure you insure for enough, I know I've under insured before based on what the coins came back as.

They refuse to not insure. I had some lower end coins and used my free membership coupon. They called and said if I didn't insure they would not grade.

 

To make matters worse, they didn't even grade 2 of the coins due to problems, so I wasn't too happy at having to pay for the insurance.

 

Hey, I would just drive down and pick them up in person if they would let me. They are less than a half hour away and the insurance and shipping fees would make it worth the trip. I'm not blaming NGC but it's a shame to have to pay a shipper extra in case it screws up!

I've heard you could drop off, but can anyone confirm that they will let you pickup? How would you list that on the submission form?

It's probably cheaper to just have them shipped unless you live in Sarasota.
