a rare item and of course the collectors are even rarer

 

two pigs doing a private act and pigs in general and counterstamped makes this coin extremely cross-collectible

 

and is listed in rulau which gives it legitmacey

Russell Rulau has written several(?) books on tokens from all periods of US exonumia/numismatics. His books generally have Rulau numbers, similar to Overton or Bolender numbers, though I don't believe he designates die marriages. Also, I don't know if all his books are original, or just updates of older reference material.

rulau is one of the biggest known references for tokens counterstamped coins and he did many different specific references too on other specific subjects as per the above

 

so when something is listed in his references it helps the provinance of an item that is obscure to little known about

 

rulau is to these types of counterstamps like overton is to early half dollar varities as tomb says
