Unusually choice 1844 dime in the perfect grade!

17 posts in this topic

It isn't for sale, but I thought you might enjoy viewing an unusually choice 1844 dime. I grade it only F-12, but it is an exquisite original. LIBERTY is wonderfully bold, and there is nary a mark or abrasion to detract.

What do you think of it?

Enjoy!

Sorry goose, it was sold before I bought it!! cloud9.gif

Actually, I have several customers wanting an 1844 dime, but other than the hoard that Heritage offered a while back, nice examples some to market very infrequently. There are usually AG examples, or damaged examples available, but if you try right now to go find a really nice, original specimen in Fine or Very Fine, your bound to be very disappointed. This coin fell into my lap unexpectedly, and I didn't even hesitate. It has no rim nicks, no dings, really not even a single hairline evident. Just a wholesome, near-perfect coin, so difficult to locate in such a heavily circulated grade.

Thanks for all the great feedback!
