1913 Walton Liberty Nickel

I'd say they were almost certainly struck intentionally. The dies were made in early December 1912 for the upcoming year. Around Dec 12th word came down not to do anything about the 1913 nickels until the new design was approved. So there would be no reason for a 1913 V nickel die to be sent to the presses. They would almost certainly have been segregated away from the 1912 dies so it would be very unlikely they would have been sent to the presses accidentally, and there would have been no nickels struck in 1913 until the buffalo was approved and those dies created.
