A couple of new additions from Pittsburgh!

I won two coins in the auction that ANR held in Pittsburgh during the ANA show and I thought I would share them with the board.

 

The first is a 1937d buffalo graded MS-67 by NGC.

It is toned in shades of lime green, red, pink, purple, violet, blue, and yellow/gold on both the obverse and reverse. It has a needle sharp strike and strong luster shining up through the toning. It is completely mark free to the naked eye.

 

 

 

The second is a 1951 BTW commem graded MS-66 by PCGS.

It has a strong strike and excellent luster. Vivid mottled rainbow toning covers both sides of the coin, and when viewed under a light the combination of the colors and luster is quite pleasing to the eye.

 

I won both of these coins with internet bids as I was unable to attend the ANA show in person because I was on vacation in Florida with the family. I drove down from New York through some pretty nasty weather and arrived an hour before the hurricane hit full force. It was quite an experience. By the next morning hurricane Charlie had passed and luckily, we had a great time for the next nine days.

I imaged both my 37-D and S before my new technique that picks up the color better. Truly, the 37-D is a great match for the one you just picked up. The 37-S looks much better than my current image in person, but no better than the 37-D you just picked up!

 

I simply love the coins you've shown - top notch, like all of your pieces!
