I heve what I thought was a Hobo nickel made from a Buffalo, it now seems to be not made from a Buffalo nickel and is a pawnbrokers nickel

Do you have a scan you could post of the coin??? I haven't heard of a pawn broker nickel, but then again...I don't own any buffalo nickels either

No buffalo nickels! You will need to correct that shortcomming!

I sold off my original collection and I now have to go about the difficult task of re-acquiring a lot of coins from a lot of series. Buff's will come in due time, but I like high grade and some of those are pretty pricey

It's a carved Hobo Nickel that was then carried as a Pocket Piece.
