Research Articles Wanted

4 posts in this topic

I am looking for good research articles relating to American numismatics. These are for use in future issues in JNR. There is no page limit, but longer articles or ones that are too complicated for weekly hobby publications are preferred.

Articles must be based on original research – no warmed-over Lincoln cent stuff – and include source citations. The articles should present new information or innovative insights into aspects of American coinage. They can deal with coins, designs, technology, processes, operations, personnel, national finance, and other topics.

I will review and edit submissions, and discuss potential changes with authors. Modest compensation will be paid. Authors retain all rights to their work except for first publication.

PM me to discuss further.

It’s OK to repost this on other coin-related message boards.

I'm focusing JNR on the national period - 1789 to end of the 20th century. This is the period with the most collector interest, but which has the smallest amount of high quality, original research. There is a huge largely untapped reserve of source material in national, state and local archives. Research article expectations are in line with those used in the Renaissance of American Coinage series…conclusions flow from facts, not guesses or old-time anecdotes.
