1875-s twenty cent piece die alignment?

2 posts in this topic

i have two 1875-s twenty cent pieces. on one the die alignment of the reverse is rotated at angle of about 35 degrees compared to the other. i can't find anything about this on the web or the books i have. any suggestions? does this die alignment add any value to the coin?

I think a 35 degree rotation is slightly more than the Mint parameters of the day. An excellent web resource for information on this effect is the rotated dies site that is run by one of our members. As for your rotation, I don't believe there would be much of a premium on it unless there are extraordinarily few 20 cent piece rotations.
