Question from a novice

I found some coins in a leather pouch today. Mostly dollars and halfs. But some of the halfs are turning green, and one looks red/brown. Is there something about leather that does this? Or do I just have weird coins? I'll attach some scans so you can see.

The type of toning that you have on your coins is likely due to chemicals remaining from the tanning process that the leather was subjected to. Nothing weird is happening, and the coins will stop turning darker if you remove them from the pouch.

Thank you, guys! It's only happened to a couple of them. Nice to know that it all has a logical explanation. I appreciate your answering my question.
