Okay, I'm way ignorant on this series, but, is this market value? If so, I think those that collect this series might be way ignorant of it. 893whatthe.gif

I was only looking at the coin (minding my own business of course, 27_laughing.gif) admiring how crapppy the coin looked and wondering how it got in a MS66 holder! When I jumped back to the list of Teletrade lots, I about flipped out of me chair, I tell ya when I saw the bid! 893whatthe.gif I had to do a double take on the coin to make sure I wasn't missing anything! That's when I figured it out! 27_laughing.gif

And it didn't sell! 893whatthe.gif I don't know what the bid finally went to, but it was at $750 the last time I looked. Purely insane. PCGS has graded only 7 in 66 w/ 0 higher, but there are 40 listed in 65! NGC has graded one in 67 (Jeff Tryka's coin) with 5FS and 3 with 6FS, but 64 was the highest grade. Anyhow, I think it was a shill. Someone put a huge reserve on the coin then had it shill bid up to that level. Maybe I'm wrong, but I simply would be overjoyed to sell someone that coin for 750 bucks had it been mine! insane.gif

Some other nutty '90s MS66FS nickels went for $200+ in that auction, while a 2003-D (66FS) went for $210. Wowzers.

And to think, I just wasted my money on a rotten old 1913 T2 proof 66 buff with mixed pastel toning.

Hoot, I hate to see a good man stuck like that. As a personal favor, just send me that old Buff you got stuck with and I'll send you a handfull of nice shiny Jeffs.

I think you're right RTG, I'll send it to you, as it will cleanse my collecting purity. insane.gif After all, it's my first proof buffeelo. angel.gif But please send the nickels first so that I know of your heart-felt sympathies. flowerred.gif

Tom - When I actually lay my paws on the coin, I'll try for a nice pic or two and make a post!
