At least somewhat OT, but, to avoid any confusion..... I am going solo...

35 posts in this topic

After six plus wonderful years with Pinnacle Rarities, I will be leaving to

go out on my own (again). This change will take effect at the beginning of July and the thought of it brings both considerable excitement and sadness, at the same time.

I have had some really great jobs in this industry during the past 25 years (man, I'm REALLY getting old!). But, I can easily and honestly say, that my time with Pinnacle has been the most enjoyable of all. I want to thank them publicly, for the way they have treated me and, evenly more importantly, for the way they treat their clients. I am sure that I will be doing plenty of business with them as soon as I get out there on my own.

I plan to continue to post (perhaps less infrequently) here, just like before, but did not want anyone to mistakenly think I was doing so as a representative of Pinnacle Rarities.

PS - I wasn't planning on posting this here because I've been posting so little over here that I didn't know if it was appropriate. However, a forum member whose opinion I greatly respect thought it would be a good idea.

Best wishes to you Mark. I'm sure you'll let us know how to find you. Any new specialty or your endeavor, or just the same ol' great coins? grin.gif

Sorry, folks, I just realized I should have posted this on the "Coin Tangents" forum. foreheadslap.gif

Hoot, my plan is to handle mostly really nice (and/or very cool) coins, as I have been in the habit of for a long time.

Good luck Mark on your new job path. Please don't be a stranger to these forums and let us know when you have your business up and running. You've always been a nice, friendly dealer in an industry of sharks.

And I'm glad that you added that PS. For a second I thought you'd be posting even less frequently here and I was saddened to think that we'd be getting less that your usual one post per month. devil.gif27_laughing.gif

Just make sure you send ME the Buffalos. I've heard that Wihlborg and Hoot no longer collect them. devil.gif

Mark,

Don't listen to Jom, he’s just kidding around, always the joker you know. insane.gif

You can send Jom all the nice Sacagawea dollars you can find because I have it on good authority that he is collecting them now. He likes them because they are gold in color, but easier to find than buffalo nickels. Hey, to each his own. confused-smiley-013.gif

Yes, yes, the Sac dollars to jom. He PMed me today saying that he wished to give me all of his worthless buffalo nickels. You KNOW they're worthless 'cause they're not slabbed! blush.gif He's collecting the Sackies 'cause they have that nice golden color that he's so fond of. smile.gif

John is letting me buy that '35-D he recently purchased since he feels so guilty about all this sneaking around and buying great coins. Please, Mark, help me collect a set to match. insane.gif

Mark: The above two posters are shills. My suggestion is to use your ignore function.

Don't worry about it. By the time Mark comes back around here in August this thread will be long buried. He'll never see it. devil.gif

Is it true that JOM, Wihlborg and Hoot collect Buffalo dollars?

How odd, or maybe not so with JOM considering what he's been trying to schlep on buyers lately in the BST forums and on eBay!

Worst of all is that Jom will likely charge you $7 to ship the Buffalo Dollar to you. 893naughty-thumb.gif

What a punk! Did you know that he charged me $10 for me to crack a coin for him at the Feb-2004 LB show? I should have charged him...

Mark,

You are far too modest. Change is good. We grow through change. I'm not referring to our waistlines either. Best wishes and I look forward to doing business with you.

Hoot,

You think that's bad? I heard he’s really hard to sell to also. Looks at every coin with an 80-power microscope, and then try’s to get a cheaper price on the piece if he finds any microscopic ticks. foreheadslap.gif

More shills? Hoot, Wihlborg and now EVP. A shame really. They WERE good posters....to bad NGC felt the need to delete their accounts. And now we get these fake posters? This place is getting more like the PCGS board everyday. 893naughty-thumb.gif

Oh, BTW, that really is Marguli...just being himself. devil.gif
