newbie18777-migration
The quarter I think may have a die chip where the mint mark should be and on the reverse side some of the letters are missing. If this is by some slim chance an error is there any value on the coin besides face value?
L1ncolnF4n
Appears to be post mint damage in all cases. At the mintmark the die may have deteriorated a bit but it's not anything that would command a premium.

Keep looking though!

Kirt
Not that one either, wear and PMD on a 39 year old coin. Are you looking for doubling and repunched mint marks? If so, read our host's description of identifying true double dies: https://www.ngccoin.com/news/article/5688/Double-Dies-vs-Machine-Doubling/. For mint marks, use VarietyVista to be sure there's actually mint mark variety for the year and mint in question. It looks like there is one for 1981D but there's no picture so here's a 1989 image that shows what you should be looking for: http://www.varietyvista.com/09b%20WQ%20Vol%202/RPMs%201989-D.htm
