Scanning coins???

well i know nothing about scanning coins nor do i have a scanner or a camera but i got some saved on my documents page kind of like a vituual coin collection

I used to scan coins... but that was not effective.... Now I use a digital camera for all my coins..... Sounds like you are having some fun with the hobby and you are starting young.. Like me... I started when I was 7... Now my collection has grown much larger I am 21 now... Good luck to you and happy hunting.... Also if you do not already have the redbook.. get it .... I would also recommend getting Photograde... It will help you learn to grade... Btw your profile says teenager.. but that covers alot of year... mind revealing your age? If you don't that is perfectly fine..

I scan coins, but with mixed results. Silver coins, especially those that have light gold toning, often scan as a bilious blue/green color. The culprit is the flourescent bulb that scanners use. I tilt the coins with a spacer and reflect (white) halogen light onto the slab before scanning it.
