1st Decent Barber Quarter - thinking of sending off - newbie

Pictures are a bit too close up but it appears to be a nice mint state coin. Well struck but some oddball issues. Not sure what's running through the reverse stars. Die crack perhaps.

Try posting pics from a little greater distance without flash.

Showing the Date might help us determine.

There is a pronounced break in the luster all around the face and stars on the obverse. The area closest to the face still has luster but in the field it goes away. This is caused by handling. Understand, luster is just a fine film left on the metal from heat generated during the minting process (friction). Any handling immediately wears it away in the low spots but it's harder to get at near a raised surface like the stars. Accordingly, you'll still see residual luster near the stars through about XF, then it's pretty much gone.

An MS 62 coin would have complete luster but more than a few nicks and bag marks. In the absence of complete luster, walk away. Luster is the easiest thing for a n00b to see and is an ABSOLUTE MUST for a coin to be mint state.
