1914/3 Buffalo Nickels - 9 known Dies - which varieties will be verified?

2 posts in this topic

I recently acquired a 1914 in high grade mint state. After careful inspection, I was able to determine that it is one of the 1914/3 varieties. You can see the diagonal of the 3 with the naked eye and a faint crossbar with minor magnification. I know there are 9 known varieties as listed in Ron Pope's book. Which of these 9 varieties are being graded and verified as 1914/3 by NGC as of now. The first 2 dies have FS #s, so I would expect those to be verified. How about the others?

Thanks,

APB

Thank you for the question. NGC does not attribute any 1914/3 Buffalo nickel varieties. You can view a complete list of Buffalo nickel varieties recognized by NGC by clicking here or by visiting the NGC website and clicking on VarietyPlus under the NGC Research menu.
