Adding Images to Messages

14 posts in this topic

I checked the FAQ's section and it appears that an image has to be located by an URL. My company website has nothing to do with coin collecting so I don't want to have my coins veiwable there. What alternatives do I have? How are members currently adding images to posts?

Wow... a question *I* can answer!!

It took me a bit to figure this out too. Basically I have the same problem, even though I am the IT manager for my company, I didn't want to use the company website.

There are many free public websites you can use to set up a personal website. I went to www.weebly.com and set up a account for free site. There you can upload photos and then use it as a link to messages you post here.

Hope that helps.

Hmmm.....I used to print them and stick them to my computer screen. Now I know why others couldn't see them --- I had 'em backwards!

The file manager tab only works for images having 200,000 bytes or less.

None of the pics from my hand held microscope are that small. (1,000,000 bytes minimum)

The photobucket.com option worked out great for me.

The problem with that is when you post a photo, I'll have to scroll all the way to Palm Beach, FL to see the right half of the photo. I live on the west coast! Please have a heart and resize your photos?

Yep. With photobucket, you can adjust the settings to have them come out just right to fit the screen.

I use Photobucket and my own webspace server. Photobucket is convenient in that you click on the photo and it gives you a link to use, then just paste the link when posting the photo here.
