24 posts in this topic

Well, grade came in today PCGS Secure Plus MS63

IMO its at least a 64, it's about the best Struck I have seen!

New pickup from a local coin show.

Nice little show, immediately after walking in I ran into this one

I figure it was kismet

Neat toning.....well struck Feuchtwanger..................with a small clip!

I bought a new camera and don't quite have the settings right but its very close.

Here is the trueview, the lighting makes the high spots on the obverse look like rubs but its not. It is the areas not toned.

But the colors are accurate

I am not a fan of that particular color scheme for a coin of this metal content, but.... I have seen a lot of these over the years, and that one features superb sharpness for a Feuchtwanger. I'd own it in a heartbeat! Nice find!

I had to Google "Feuchtwanger" just to learn about this coin. Interesting historical coin, and this one appears to be well preserved.

Very attractive coin ^^

Thanks for sharing

That's a beauty and at a 63 I suppose it's the rim dent that held it back. Nice color for sure . (thumbs u

Thanks, but it's not a dent, rather a clip. And a clip should not have held it back.

Technically it's an error.

Even though an error, in the case of a Feuchtwanger, the clip probably made it less desirable than had it not been a clipped planchet, but otherwise identical. In that case, it would hold the market grade back a little. At any rate, it is a beautiful coin that cannot be adequately described by a single number.

Agreed, my mistake.

I think PCGS should have given it a 64. With that great eye appeal and color it would probably bring 64 money in any event. Bottom line: It's a great looking coin with a lot of history and a very desirable addition to your collection. :headbang:
