GTG 1826 Capped Bust. (Grade revealed!)

I'm at 45 as well, do they give 45 stars? If so, I'd give this a star.

Yes, they do on occasion. It is very rare to get stars in the lower grades, for some reason. I own several that deserve the star.

I own the only EF-40* graded in the entire series, an 1821.

I bought this coin raw, and fell in love with it, I was a little concerned about the rub marks on the reverse, but looked like classic drawer rub to me and fit well for a 180+ year old coin. I was really surprised to get this back from NGC. I appreciate the comments, they have echoed my thoughts on the coin. So here is the results, please weigh in now that you know the grade, or lack of grade.

That's still a coin to be in love with no matter what NGC says. They get paid to pick nits.

Cleaned or otherwise I think the toning is outstanding and quite attractive.

I would have to see better pictures of the reverse. Its hard to tell with your pics. It is entirely possible that there could be hairlines hidden under the toning, happens all the time.

As for my EF-40*, here it is. It is by no means the most attractive coin I own, but its the one NGC gave a star.

I can see some hairline behind the hair. But who doesn't see hairlines on early halves anyway? There must be something else that caused the no grade. hm

Physics: Great 1821. Wanna sell?
