Market And Pricing For FB Roosevelt Dimes

3 posts in this topic

As some of you may be aware, I recently had graded a small number of Roosevelt dimes. These are all silver issue, MS coins with toning, mostly on the reverse and in various hues. A fair number came back from PCGS as FB and I went to the PCGS Daily Price Guide to check out the premium that they attach to this designation. Unfortunately, there are no prices listed for these FB issues.

So, does anyone, who is more familiar with the FB Roosevelt market than I am, have any information they can share with me regarding an FB premium? I would assume that the highest rated Registry set owners would have paid a decent premium for many of these coins, but do other folks? Some of the coins are tough, like a '49 MS66FB and a '47-S MS67FB, while others are quite common. Since quite a few of these will be offered for sale, is there any insight to share?

There is a lot of pricing info in the Heritage auction archives. There have been a large number of 66FB and 67FB Roosevelt Dimes sold there, and you can see a basic trend of very strong premiums for them, especially 67's.
