Gotta show off my new girlfriend.

Not rare, but boy has she got luster. It's a raw coin, a 35-S. The area at 2:00 on the obverse is actually a toning streak that looks like a mark, as is the one at 6:00. The spot on the eagle wing is just heavy satin that didn't photograph well. There are a few hits well hidden in the devices, but the fields and cheek are quite nice, and the surfaces original with undipped 100% luster. The strike is a little weak, but that's pretty normal for this coin. I thought she was pretty enough to share a pic. Hope you don't mind. Sure is a nice coin in hand. wink.gif

Beautiful coin and great photos!

You've just brought to my attention tht fact that I no longer have a single Peace dollar to my name. I should do something about that! smile.gif

Don,

I don't collect Peace $s, but that toning between 8 & 10:00 on the reverse really gives the coin personality. Thanks for sharing it.

PS: I 'approve' of your choice in women!

Wow! That is one of the nicest 35-S Peace dollars I've ever seen! I really need to start coin shopping where you do your shopping Don! Stunning! Thanks for sharing it, you just brightened my day!

Don, speaking of girlfriends……weird story:

For whatever reason, about 3 weeks ago, my girlfriend was driving my car and picked up her sister (a very cute sister I might add—we’ll just leave it at that) and went shopping together….or whatever, it’s not important. Anyway, the sister spotted the envelope you sent me which had contained the 09 vdb, and made the remark when she saw the return address: “Don Heath? Ha Ha, Remember Don Heath’s autohaus?” Anyway to make a long story short, I had caught your thread about “what do you do when not collecting coins” and found it interesting you had a “side” hobby of selling expensive BMW’s---so long as it didn’t interfere with your collecting—great attitude! Anyway, my girlfriend and her sister are both from Greensboro, so when I saw the link to your dealership (about a week later) I asked them if they knew of the autohaus, of course when they connected the ‘imaginary’ dots it was “oh my god! are you serious! You bought Kelly a BMW!!” They actually thought I bought my girlfriend a BMW! Holy cow! I told them to lay off the ludes…I then went on to explain how ridiculous it was for me to purchase Kelly a BMW considering just how many coin that would buy wink.gif…well of course I was accused of being a coin nerd etc (great excuse for me!)…. but I ended up promising to visit your lot on our next trip to Redsboro….see you then!

Al, that's too funny. What a small world. I think the only right thing to do is to let me supply you with something appropriate for Kelly to get you out of your jam. 27_laughing.gif

BTW - When you're coming to Greensboro, please drop me a line and I'll make sure to be there. As a buyer, I spend most of my time traveling, but I'd love to meet you guys and buy you a cup of coffee and talk about your Morgans. grin.gif
