Need help identifying this coin!

2 posts in this topic

I have a coin and I'm not sure what it is. On one side it has some flowers/blossom on branches around the edge, and some weird writing (not writing like this but symbols like the ones the Chinese etc use) with a number 10 underneath. On the other side it had a head and neck, which is bald, smiling, and wearing a shirt. Above this is some more weird writing/symbols. I don't have a clue what this is, or what country it's from, so can you please help me?

It sounds like a Republic of China (Taiwan) 10 Dollars coin featuring Chiang Kai-shek. Over a billion of these were made of copper-nickel from 1981-1993 and are worth about .50 if Uncirculated. You might also try a library for a copy of the Standard Catalog of World Coins for pictures, values and lots more interesting info.
