I love the internet. Assuming you are willing to wander around the world you can find all sorts of interesting economic data. Here's a piece written by Yu Yongding, currently President of the China Society of World Economics, who was a former member of the monetary policy committee of the Peoples' Bank of China and former Director of the Chinese Academy of Sciences Institute of World Economics and Politics. The article was published in Al Jazeera (English) an Arab (specifically Qatar) media company. Here is what someone in the know about Chinese economics says about letting the renminbi float. It's kind of amusing, having a Chinese guy, publishing in an Arab news bureau, talking about something that could/eventually will strongly affect the US dollar.
