Babe, you're a hep-chick with taste!

That is a beautiful walker. Nice strike and luster and beautiful toning that suits my tastes to a tee!

From these images I can't see what it was that I had thought was on the coin before. It was likely an artifact of the previous image.

Its always tough to make a assessment from a image...

I will tell you though, this one is every bit as nice as the images portray it to be...

Full Skirt Lines, Full split Thumb.... Solid strike....

I almost want to say, "Full breast" to put it nicely! grin.gif But the problem with this coin is that none of the TGCs can put it in a technical grade that will put it above most of the others that sport less then a full strike! Let's say this coin grades a solid MS65 for example but a MS67 43 walker with less of a full strike will be more desireable by the majority of collectors, hense, will sell for more.

Nice eye you have for detail, this is what collecting coins is all about!! Especially moderns!

A really outstanding Walker!

I know that it is hard to tell from a scan, but it appears that there is some doubling on the obverse along the lower gown and edge of the flag. Flynn and Raines note in their book "Treasure Hunting Walking Liberty Half Dollars" that DDOs are common for Walkers from all mints in 1943. Although this variety may be somewhat common, it would be really cool on a nice high-grade coin like this.

Every 65 I've seen has marks or even rubs on the leg. This coin is an easy 66, but I'd say 67. The Bluesheet has this coin at $194 in 66 and way, way higher in 67. So anybody who believes as I do would say the Hep Kitty ripped herself a big score here!

hmm high bid is $75, Are you accepting more bids Kitty? I'm a player...

Lucy,

Thanks for the image. While the 43 P is common in Unc., and its strike is usually good, this is a beautiful coin. Miss Liberty's head is full, and the skirt lines are exceptionally clean. Usually, a Walker in 5 will have hits on the skirt line that are noticeable with the naked eye. Not here.

I don't know if it's more funny or scary, but when I started collecting, you could pick up a coin like this one for $5 or $10 max.

Heh Heh, I remember when you could have bought a 1999 Silver proof set for $31.95...
