81 1971-S Silver Proof Brown Box sets for sale $900

6 posts in this topic

I have eighty-one 40% silver-clad proof 1971-S Ike dollars in their original plastic cases and brown boxes. As I don't want to go through the hassle of selling individually, I will sell the bulk at $900 (circa $11 each) plus actually shipping. First :takeit: gets the lot.

I am surprised that these Ikes can't even sell for 7% discount to the silver content. I will just hold onto them for now.

$11.8335 is the rounded silver value for the 1971-1974, 1976 silver Eisenhower dollar on March 23, 2011.

From the average guy looking to accumulate silver, you should be able to get 95-100% of the melt value.

Selling this sort of thing to a dealer and you'd probably get 88-90% of melt.

Actually sold the coins to a dealer who gave 90% silver melt value. So the coins do have some value albeit only for its silver.

Received $13.67 per coin against the melt value of $15.1602.

$15.1602 is the rounded silver value for the 1971-1974, 1976 silver Eisenhower dollar on April 29, 2011.
