Think I just paid a world-record price for a common 1991-D nickel!

Back when I was a boy we wore onions on out belts, it was the style at the time...And nickels had bumblebees on them, and we used to say, "gimme 5 bees for a quarter." 893blahblah.gif

Can you beat that? In one respect, yes I can! But in the classic sense, the answer is no! Why? Because each coin can take on it's own charactoristics and cannot be duplicated. Especially with toning and in this case, the strike on your coin is very strong! The rim looks beat up and at the moment, I can only see a couple of major marks in the focal area that would keep the grade low. But I'd say, it's an easy MS64. NGC perhaps or Pcgs, especially pcgs, would stick it in a MS66 holder, then you could septupletize your money. 893naughty-thumb.gif27_laughing.gif ANACS would give you the best technical grade for this coin and then I could purchase it for a reasonable, respectable $45! That is, if it has five full steps, a bit more for a six stepper! Notwithstanding, someone would pay more! Here's a somewhat simular coin I picked up for $22 but certified by ANACS as a MS65 6 steps and PL.
