A couple coins from the Portland show

There wasn't much foreign to choose from, which was a disappointment, but I managed to fill a few holes in my set. This Hawaiian was the best one I saw. No wear, but lightly hairlined, which got it an AU58. Others I looked at were lusterless and cleaned for the same price.

I also found a decent AU 1925 Guatemala 1/2 Quetzal. That leaves only the killer Quetzal for that country. A 1952 40 centavos pretty much completed Cuba also. Just have the gold to go. I should have gotten those before gold went up... frown.gif

The Austrian Florin was just a nice looking coin, not part of my set. I didn't notice the little scratch until I took the picture, though.

I also like the florin!

I've been keeping an eye out for high grade specimans of that type, KM2222, with a thought to putting together a date run. Unfortunately my set currently contains but a single piece, also an 1878.

No need for sleeping.gif until I find a second date!

Well, I have an 1879 that is in superb condition. It's in at NGC right now.

For some reason I think you passed on this coin while we were at Long Beach. In fact, you passed on a bunch of great coins that time. Oh, I remember now, someone gave you the page of junk and kept the page of greatness for himself. cloud9.gif

Hey, we should have grades tomorrow. 893crossfingers-thumb.gif

At least the junky page had the Ferdinand-Charles 3 kreuzer so I didn't get totally skunked:

Questionable Authenticity.
