NGC made a good choice separating Coin Tangents from the U.S.Coins forum.

Lately, I find the separation of coin discussions from holder politics quite refreshing. It increases my enjoyment of the hobby, so thanks. When I feel like a good scrap, I know where to find it, and when I feel like looking at and discussing coins, I know where there's a refuge. In hindsight, I applaud your foresight. wink.gif

As a poster on both sides of the street, I find the CU forum a mish-mash of just about anything and everything. Seems no sooner do you start a thread, so do a bunch of others, and before you know it, yours is off to oblivion! Not so here with the separation of topics. Much preferred then the clutter over there.

So I agree with you 100%, Don. But if you really want a scrap, visit/read/post at the Water Cooler! I seldom go there anymore, even to read/entertain myself. Some of the people get juuusst a little carried away!

And too much politics and posturing for my interest.

I like the breakdown too. I was the one who pushed for the Coin Tangents forum here. For a long time there was talk about breaking the PCGS forum into two, one for coins and the other for coin-related topics. I discussed that with them many times and it was discussed in the forums. The last word I heard on that was the forum was so busy that it'd be impossible to break it now since posters were used to posting everything in one forum.

I didn't want to see that happen here. The break had to happen before the forums got too busy, but after they were busy enough to support two forums. Thankfully, after the coin forum traffic picked up a little here Arch went ahead and created this Tangents forum. I love it. Most of the time I don't want to wade thru grade results, links to eBay auctions, PayPal questions, etc. Those have a place, but they just seem to clutter up the main forum and the good on-topic posts got lost.

Don

I was thinking the same thing when a member "puttogether" posted that he'd rother take a break from all the commotion over where you spend most of your day. 27_laughing.gif. Just kidding! stooges.gif

But nonetheless, let that guy know of your newfound wisdom and steer him this way, he'd like it here!

Leo, I keep dual citizenship so I can talk to my buddies on both forums. wink.gif

You are so right Greg! All the eBay collectors and eBay cops can keep that across the street. Quality coin information to be found and discussed here.

I have to admit that I thought this was not a good idea when it happenned because it seemed like there would not be a critical mass of postings in either board. However, it appears as though I am completely wrong on this issue, and I'm glad about it! smile.gif

Hats off to Arch for making the change. 893applaud-thumb.gif

Hats off to all who have made and kept the difference respected! acclaim.gif

Now all we need is a forum where two can go and post it out with each other! 27_laughing.gif

Oh yeah, we call that the PM function! 27_laughing.gif

One other thing, on a different note, is that I really love the new online submission format. Being able to create an invoice and NOT submit it right away is about as cool as it gets. There are so many time that I've wanted to build and/or change an order - I can now submit it when I'm ready to do it, without the hassle of starting the entire process over again. Thanks NGC! cloud9.gif
