Fresh from NGC:

Practically everything (haze, scratches) you see on the coin are either on the slab or the result of the scanner.

He's a Pop 1 with a handful of other PF69s with *, CAM, or UCAM. I thought this one should have made the CAM designation (reverse is a tad light) or at the very least the * designation. Oh well, can't complain about the numerical grade. cloud9.gif

Pretty coin, especially for a Frankie. Starting a new registry set?

No, but I'llbe happy to sell it to someone who is. Either that or it's off for auction in a couple of days. thumbsup2.gif

looks like a one-sided cam, and thus should've *'ed. but, then again, maybe a pf69 should look great and thus fore upward pressure on the * desig?

Greg: Were you hoping for a CAM? The obverse is (at least from the picture) but the reverse is not quite there (again, from the picture). Did you think it had a shot? What about the grade? Did you anticipate a PF69?

Then you've seen a lot of very cute and cuddly Frankies!

Very nice. You can't go wrong with an NGC PR69 Franklin. I'm a bit surprised NGC didn't STAR it due to it being an "lost Cameo", but as I've learned, they likely would on a designation review.

I was expecting the coin to come back either PF68* or PF68CAM. I think they bumped the coin to PF69 instead of giving one of those designations. However, the surfaces are really nice.

I might try designation review, but who knows. Considering I've only got $30 into it, I'm probably happy to sell it as is and buy me something nice with the money. cloud9.gif Let someone else resubmit it.

This coin used to be a stupidly graded PCGS PR65 that I purchased in a big lot from Wondercoin.

Hoot, I think there was a typo in your reply-

It seems the words "in proof sets" were somehow incorporated in the statement you made. Please edit your post accordingly. 893scratchchin-thumb.gif893whatthe.gif

One wonders why it wouldn't have a STAR if it's PR69. Doesn't really make sense, does it?

Heh. Agree completely. tongue.gif

Even with 95 days to grade a coin, those dorks don't seem able to get it right. Congratulations on a very nice make. I'm no Franklin collector, but that is one heck of a grade!
