US Mint Release dates?

I just got through reading the March 29th 2004 Coin World. Interesting they have an article about when the US Mint will release coins for this year.

Here they are:

March 15th: American Silver Eagle Proof

March 17th: Mint State Sacagawea Dollars

March 24th: 2004 Clad Proof Set

March 29th: 2004 Florida Mint State Quarters

April 5th: 2004 Silver Proof set

April 8th: American Gold Eagle Proof

May 3rd: 2004 Texas Mint State Quarters

Why do I not believe the US Mint? Surely, someone there can come up with a correct release date and spread them more over the year? Frustrated....

Todd, If we began to believe what the U.S. Mint says, we'd think we'd have died and gone to heaven over their current designs on coins! smirk.giflaugh.gif

Did you read Beth Deisher's editorial regarding the art infusion program? Pretty illuminating. The Mint simply can't seem to get it right no matter how hard they try.

Mark,

I agree. I get so frustrated with the US Mint. They still have nonthing in the upcoming products page.

I here that everything is delayed 3 to 4 weeks.

Oh well.

By the way, I still have not received the last of the wildlife medals! Now that one's about 7 months late? 27_laughing.gif

Did you write "art" and "Mint" in the same paragraph? shocked.gif You didn't even use a negative qualifier between them such as "not"! 893whatthe.gif

Todd,

Thanks for the info - I share your skepticism. Of course, I'm not really going out on a limb given that today is March 19, and the first date was four days ago. What continues to puzzle me even more than the lackadaisical web site updates and continually unrealistic projected availability dates are the "no longer available" products that have been "no longer available" for months, yet remain targets of click through banner images at the right edge of the Mint's web pages. It's incredible. It reminds me of the old Monty Python cheese shop routine.
