First Hawaii overprint notes (July 1942). Where are they? Also posted on Paper M

The first four $1 Hawaii overprinted silver certificates were signed by General Delos C. Emmons, Admiral Chester W. Nimitz and Col. Thomas H. Green (JAG). One was given to Gen. Emmons, one kept by Col. Green. The one offered to Adm. Nimitz was declined. The fourth (and presumably the third as well) was intended for the Army Adjutant General as part of the historical collection.

Does anyone have information on these $1 certificates? (The Army Center for Military History folks drew a blank.)

Thanks!

Nimitz stated he didn’t want US currency in his scrapbook, but that he had a "yen for Yen taken from a captured pilot or sailor." The JAG located Japanese currency taken from a Dec 7 pilot who had crash landed then later committed suicide.

I went there here recently and didn't see any of those bills.

At most museums you only see a tiny fraction of what is in their collections.
