I've narrowed my digital cam down to 2 choices....

The Olympus 5050 or the 5060. you can compare them by clicking on the link on the left and selecting those 2.

First off I am mainly after a camera for Family use and occasional coin pics and possibly All of my coin pics if it blows my mavica away. I want to be able to get pics that we like developed at Cord Camera for example and not have them look all crappy like my FD Mavica does. My mavica FD is an excellent coin camera but a horrible family camera.

I like the battery for the 5060 but the 5050 (according to many) has a better lens and is now discontinued......but still available here and there.

any opinions from owners of either??????

Thanks!

Hey Goose I purchased the 5050 zoom a year ago and I have been pleased with it. I have heard that it is selling for way less than I paid for it. I don't know a thing about the 5060 other then what has already been said about it.

i can get a brand new 5050 for 439 and no shipping!

the 5060 is only about 40.00 more.

I'm leaning towards the 5050. I posed some questions on an olympus forum and some of the people were very helpful. I know now what it is like for a non coin person to look at our threads! same feeling stepping into the olympus forum. I was lost.
