and as it happens to be.........

 

that this coin

 

has deeper mirrors in the fields thumbsup2.gif and deeper frost on the devices thumbsup2.gif than the scan shows

 

and is totally blast white 893whatthe.gif and when i mean blast white

 

i mean just like a newly minted 893whatthe.gif proof silver american eagle flamed.gifflamed.gifflamed.gifdevil.gif

I like the Trade and Double Dime eagles, but my favorite is the flying eagle from the cent and Gobrecht dollar. It even looks good with a little wear: 893whatthe.gif

Even though one could argue that the eagle looks like a chicken, I like the 1794/95 Halves.

Surprisingly enough I don't share greg's love of ASG's flying eagle, though the total design is my favorite, I favor the standing eagles on the reverse of the Indian eagle and the peace dollar.

I must thank shylock for doing the cutting around the eagle, it was entirely his effort and he did this for me about two years ago when I told him this was my favorite eagle.

Oh, the eagle from the Connecticut tercentenary commemorative half! One of my favorites for sure, the other being the eagle on the reverse of the liberty walking half. Great photo Tom!
