Hi everyone LINK

I hate the damage on the cheek! The strike is less than full! Looks like there's a c-spot! But what the heck, the toning looks mint set and I'm hopeing for some red, so I placed a max bid because of work and luckly won. 27_laughing.gif

Hey, Leo, I think you picked up a nice ATer!! 27_laughing.gif

Seriously, I think its a beautiful Jeff and very nicely priced! The C spot and rim damage(?) are countered by the eye appeal!

Here is yours next to my raw. Gave mine a 65 too so seems as if I agree with ANACS grade (for once!). Damage to the jaw, high cheek, hair, forehead and coat are primary high points that take the brunt of hits and nicks. And it never fails to amaze me how you can find a MS66 or 67 with reverse hits to just the step area and missing everything else but ruining the FS attribution!! Its like a conspiracy or something!!!

I agree with your concerns....baggy and c-spot, BUT very attractive and probably won't go in debt on this one. I love finding coins under $100 that have such a great look to them. Obviously you did not buy this for it's technical merits but for the look. Good deal, I think.

Here's a couple other 1947's I have (see attachments). Anacs grades them a MS66 and 65 respectfully. The MS65 also shows some trouble on the cheek but it's not too distracting. David, nice 1947 you have there. It looks like it would grade about MS65 also. I also have a couple of raw 1947, I'll try to post them as well. One has a nicer strike then all the others but nothing that I would consider an EDS coin.
