I read about many collectors selling entire collections and may consider this soon. I have only sold a few coins through ebay as I improved my collection. If you have experienced this, what would be the best venue for selling the entire collection and the pro or con with each? (i.e; ebay, Telerade, Heritage, Large Dealers, Individuls, etc.)

The answer to your question is very complicated and would require much more information from you. Where to go with your collection is determined by many of the following factors:

 

1. How soon you need the money?

2. How specialized is your collection?

3. What is its speciality?

4. What is the grade range for your collection?

5. What is the size of your collection?

6. What is the approximate monetary value of your collection?

7. Prevailing market conditions for various pieces within your collection? (E.g., any Bust coin is currently HOT, but circ 3CS, 3CN and 2c are not.)

8. Who do you know? (Knowing the right people will help you maximize your return.)
