Raw Proof Wheaties... ?

I'm trying to find a raw proof wheatie to put in my Type Set... but I'm having a hell of a time finding one.

How much should I expect to pay for one? Is it a hopless attempt to look for a non-slabed Proof Wheatie?

The later dates are common and you should expect to pay maybe $5.

Just buy yourself a 56-58 mint sealed proof set, I'm sure you'll find exactly what you want - When I say mint sealed I mean still sealed in the mint plastic, not still in the sealed envelope - look at the darn things and pick one that has a nice unspotted penny. Occassionally the pennies get spots even in the mint plastic.

As a side benefit, you'll get the proof nickel through half as an added bonus - you should be able to find a decent set from around grey-sheet ask. & your cost per coin will be quite inexpensive.

Hmmmmm... a flat pack... that would kill 3 birds with 1 stone...

What are the usually asking prices for them? Which year should be the cheapest?

Probably a 1957 set - maybe $15-20 for the set (about $3-$4 Per Coin)

A 1957 set, the cheapest with the proof Wheatie, bids at $24/$26.

Very nice EDS strike! Your coin surpasses any certified coin with less of a strike!
