No Kennedy halves to be issued for 2004?

7 posts in this topic

I believe they will be issued this year thru roll and bag purchases only from the mint as in 2003 and I think 2002. Whether or not they'll be discontinued is unknown. That's been a rumor every year for a few years now. I doubt it as I'm sure the profit hungry US Mint would publicize this quite highly in order to sell more rolls and bags, just like they did with the 2003 nickel sales.

One of these days the Federal Reserve is going to release all of the stored Kennedys into circulation and they will be worth about forty cents each. I wonder how much storage space they take up altogether?

Has anybody else here bought any of those Kennedy Half rolls from the mint? I finally got around to looking through my 2003 and 2002 P & D rolls to find a high quality example of each date & mintmark to add to my collection. What a bunch of [!@#%^&^]. The reverse on the 2002's is terribly struck and very grainy looking. I was able to find one of each date and mint mark but they are probably no better than ms-63. I will probably put the rest into circulation. I had the same luck with the 2002 Sac's. The Philadelphia roll was terrible. I won't do that again.
