hi all, where is a good place to find the value of coins? also does any web site have a portfolio where i can enter the coins i have and keep track of value?

I believe Heritage has a portfolio feature. You can check values at Numismedia.com, Heritage and PCGS - or Coin World online if you are a subscriber.

As TDN said, there are several sources on the internet. But if you do not have a Red Book, you should think of picking one up. Their price list is not comprehensive for grades but it does have a reasonable span. The Red Book is also a great beginners guide to the hobby. Con World can be purchased at many magazine racks or can be ordered online.

 

Price guides should be compared. They offer benchmark information and are a bit anecdotal. Auction prices realized (Heritage, Teletrade) are more current sources of information, but may not be reflective of what one would expect to pay a dealer.

Coin World Trends might help Here's a link to Free Coin Collecting Download that could help with the inventory. I haven't tried it yet but heard some good things about it.
