shirohniichan
My thanks to EVP for posting photos of his new 1876 II/II. I am interested in getting scans of all known examples of this variety. I've heard estimates that about 20 to 25 exist in all grades. There was recently on in VF in the latest Bowers and Merena auction, but since I couldn't get confirmation of the variety I didn't bid very high on the lot it was in. Does anyone know who the high bidder was? If TDN or anyone else has a business strike 1876-P II/II trade dollar, please send me scans of both obverse and reverse. Thanks! EVillageProwler
Shiroh, You should make sure that Keoj reads this post. He knows of an alleged gem specimen... EVP
shirohniichan
TDN, do you have one? If so, do you have a scan of it that you can share with us?
Tradedollarnut
Varieties? I don't need no stinkin' varieties! No, the only varieties I've collected are the DDO and DDR.
EVillageProwler
And you call yourself a Trade Dollar NUT? You're a phoney! You don't deserve all those Trade Dollars. Give them to people who will appreciate them more! EVP

shirohniichan
TTT I'll start a new thread about diagnostics for proof 1876 II/II trade dollars, but I want to know how many chopmarked 1875-CC I/II T$s TDN has!
Tradedollarnut
I have two - a choice BU and a VF (which is for sale).
EVillageProwler
I'll take the ChBU specimen. How much? EVP
Tradedollarnut
The ChBu is not for sale - the VF is a mere $175 - the same price I paid several years ago for what is supposed to be the second rarest chopped variety (after the 78CC). It has LOTS of chops - XF details, net VF
EVillageProwler
Do you NOT understand English? I said that I'll take the ChBU specimen. How much? And, don't give me no lip! EVP
Tradedollarnut
A straight across trade for one measly dollar. Except...it must be dated 1870 and have an S mintmark and be AU or better. Good luck! Of course - gold vs silver is your choice!
