With a description like that Michael, I'm depressed. I didn't think animals like that existed.

Then you guys go and post up those pics.........severe depression kicks in.

A sad followup to the Seated Dollar I posted. I used to own the coin, but sold it a year back. It's now been dipped and upgraded. Don't know how, with the hairlines in the field, but one method of dealing with such hairlines is to smoke them - blow tobacco smoke on them until they are less prominent.

Second hand smoke is indeed a hazard! wink.gif

Awesome thread that you've resurrected, Michael!!!

Makes me kind of sad since I rarely every see Lucy and Boiler post much anymore. I always love TDN's posts, too. It is a rare privilege to have such numismatists share their knowledge (many of whom I did not mention by name). Michael, you certainly are up there. 99.9% of the time you have outstanding posts with incredible knowledge. Now about that other .1% of the time ... no comment! smile.gif

Cool proof seated dollars and pattern coins. I've never seen some of those patters. I'll have to check out your web site.

Here is mine a 1893 Proof cam half. NGC gave it a PF64 cam but it looks great. I'll take some better pictures. It looks yellow on my computer but it is really a black and white cameo.

Boiler78,

Phew! You didn't desert us, thank goodness. smile.gif I am still just as impressed with your patterns as the first time that I saw them two years ago. And, as always, thanks for sharing!
