Oh my god! It must be time for bed for me. The 1883 is actually a Type I reverse, the CC reverse is indeed a Type II reverse. 73-cc will have a TII reverse w/ the split ribbon & E will be closer to the wreath. Ok, its time for bed. Ive been reading quite a bit today & it feels like my eyes are fuzzy. Goodnite all

The Orphan Annie story is covered in the March, 1999 Numismatist. The name dates back to the early 1930s and appears to have been first used in Hobbies Magazine. However, I have reason to believe it may have been used earlier in another publication entitled Philatelic West. Have not got around to doing this search yet.
