1829 Capped Bust Half Dime

The basic grade is VF-20, but if the picture is accurate, the coin has been cleaned to white unnatural color. As such it would net grade down to a Fine or so.

 

If the coin were original it would not have enough value to be slabbed, but as it is I'm afraid it would be a "not grade" piece. Sorry. (shrug)

There's no circulation crud around the edges of the devices, letters or stars. To me, that is a dead give away of a previous cleaning.

 

If you did not pay a premium (whole lotta money) it would still be nice to keep raw as a first year of issue.

 

Good luck...have your return envelope made out if you paid over $60 though.
