Imagine, if you will, what people had to do in those days to make 10 bucks. When someone had $10 back then, they most likely were the rich folk. You could probably buy a horse for $10. What year did you say it was? A family could eat for a month on $10. Flour, wheat, ground corn with a little cow milk would get you some grits. That is, if you had a cow! Heck, back then, people probably got shot over a 10 spot. There has to be a currency forum out there somewhere. I think there is but no-one really posts to it.

The Bill is dated 1843 and it is From the Phoenix Bank.... It seems that all major cities back then made there own money .. and the goverment money was rarely seen.. But i could be totally off

Well, there you go! Back then, most folks didn't have a pot to pee in, less then carrying a 10 dollar bill around in their pocket. Back in those days, most did more trading then buying so there weren't too many of those bills around.
