NEAT INFORMATION ON PROOF DIE CRACKS

Interesting, I have a proof 1978 Washington Quarter that has a die crack on the reverse. I guess you can call it the "clipped eagle's wing" variety. Never thought these things were worth that much. But then again, on a proof coin I bet it is rather rare.

Unfortunately I have a lousy 1 meg camera that won't allow good close-ups, but I am working on getting a better one. So perhaps when I spring for $500 to buy a nice 5 meg camera with zoom I will. Sorry.

 

It's basic though it has a die crack on the reverse left wing that starts at the rim and runs into the wing about 25% of the depth of the wing.

 

Any thoughts as to what an oldie like this might be worth?
